Backend and API development on Node.js and Python

I design and build backends: data models, APIs for interfaces and partners, background jobs, imports and exports, integrations with external services. I work with NestJS and Node.js, Python and Django, and PostgreSQL.

Why clients come

  • The interface is ready, but the backend is missing or can't cope
  • Partners need an API to exchange data without manual entry
  • Heavy reports and imports freeze the system
  • Data is scattered across services and needs to come together

What I build

  • Data models

PostgreSQL schema, ER diagrams and access rules — before writing code.

  • REST APIs

For your own interface and for partners, with documentation and Postman collections.

  • Background jobs

Celery, queues and deferred processing: reports and imports don't block users.

  • Data and analytics

Regular loads into PostgreSQL with Airflow, exports for BI.

  • Files

Storage in S3 and MinIO, upload, preview and cleanup.

  • Tests and releases

Automated tests, CI/CD, stage and production.

What drives the cost

I send a stage-by-stage estimate after a call and a review of requirements.

  • Data volume and load
  • Number of integrations
  • Security and access requirements
  • Whether API docs are needed for external teams

FAQ

Node.js or Python?

It depends on the task and the team. NestJS fits when the frontend is also TypeScript; Python and Django suit data work and a quick admin panel. I'll recommend what fits your case.

Can you improve an existing backend?

Yes. First I get to know the code and data, then propose a plan: what to fix now and what to fix as the product evolves.

Do you work alone or with a team?

I own the architecture, frontend and backend myself. If the project needs a designer, QA or DevOps, we agree on the team at the start.

What do you need to estimate a project?

Tell me what problem the product solves, who will use it and which systems it connects to. If there are no requirements yet, we'll work them out on a call, then I'll send a stage-by-stage estimate.

Why is the price shown as “from”?

It's the lower bound of the budget. The final figure depends on roles, integrations and load requirements — I give an estimate after reviewing the task.
